Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola intends to stay at Manchester City next season, regardless of whether or not they secure a third successive Premier League title.
City currently lie fourth in the table – their lowest position since the end of Guardiola’s first season in 2017 – with the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool prior to the international break leaving them an alarming nine points behind the Reds.

However, Guardiola has rubbished speculation that he could quit as City boss at the end of the current campaign, with reports also linking him with a return to Bayern Munich – where he won seven trophies in three seasons from 2013-2016.
“Why should people think I’m not happy? Because we lost at Anfield or I’ve lost three games this season?” he said before Saturday’s crunch match against Chelsea.
“That’s an odd reason to say I’m not happy or satisfied – I want to stay.”
The Spaniard, whose current deal runs until the summer of 2021, emphasised his desire to help the club improve in the years to come.
