Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing teenage Brazilian striker Gabriel Martinelli.
Martinelli, 17, currently plays for fourth division side Ituano where he has impressed, with four goals scored and a further three created in the State Championship.
And, according to UOL Sport, Arsenal scouts have watched the youngster in action with the club now holding ‘concrete’ interest in him.
Watford and Crystal Palace are also reported to be keen on the forward, though it is Arsenal who are pressing forward with a £6.9million (€8million) deal.
LATEST FOOTBALL NEWS
Martinelli, as with all Brazilians, is not allowed to join a European club until his 18th birthday, which is in June. It is believed negotiations over a deal for the striker would see him link up with Arsenal as soon as he is able, meaning he will be on the north Londoners’ books in time for the start of next season.
