FFA Head of Leagues Craig O'Rourke says plans to expand the A-League are very much on target, but only if the incoming Football Federation Australia board can pick the two successful bids before the end of January. John Aloisi wants the A-League expanded and its salary cap scrapped by the new Football Federation Australia board. The Brisbane Roar coach says the $3 million cap creates an illusion of parity despite "four or five clubs" spending much more than their rivals. Crucially, A-League rules allow three members of each 23-man club squad to be paid outside the cap.
